One of the reasons we send out these short articles is for all of us that are fasting to be on the same page. We all know the story of Pentecost, a people found in unity with one another and the heart of God experienced something powerful. This fateful day would change the world forever. It started in a small little church with only 120 people and ended up touching the farthest corners of the earth.
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Together we are asking for another outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Something so powerful that would shake our continent and change the cultural landscape forever. Of course, the Holy Spirit has never left the earth, so when I say “We ask for another outpouring of the Holy Spirit”, the more precise language would be “we ask for a greater manifestation of the Lords presence through the Holy Spirit”.
There were seasons in history when that happened, and it shaped and changed countries and continents. We just heard about Herrnhut. When I read a biography of Zinzendorf they said that “the Lord tabernacled with them”. His nearness was felt for days and weeks at a time. This caused the people to radically follow the Lamb wherever He leads. Their “slogan” was: “May the Lamb receive the reward of His suffering”
In Wales a young man by the name Evan Roberts encountered God, and he received a heavenly vision, to see 100.000 people saved in six months. Humanly impossible, but nothing is impossible with God. He prayed, he felt the power of God come on his life and he started to preach. It did not only affect him, but it was said that as many people were saved outside the church meetings as inside. People would feel the manifest presence of God in a field, they would fall on their knees and repent of their sins. No-one could escape the convicting power of the Holy Spirit.
This is what we are asking for. The Lord, once again, would give us a season of revival, where by supernatural might, people would get converted. In our churches, on our outreaches and people by themselves at home or at work. The Lord promised to give us His Spirit.
Let’s ask for it.
17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.
21 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.’
